The genial, badly-behaved-man, visited Islay last August to film the engaging three part travelogue, ITV's answer to the highly successful Coast.
"I was interested to know if island life was intrinsically different to life on the mainland and, having done the series, it probably is.” The actor quipped.
The first hour-long episode had an audience of 4.4m (18.7%) making it the second most popular documentary on the channel this year.
In the second episode that appeared on ITV 1 on Sunday 10th May at 9pm, Clunes experiences his own personal visions of heaven and hell:
“Heaven was a visit to The Bruichladdich Distillery. And hell? A never-to-be-forgotten dive. I thought I was a goner”.
